Ed & Terry Win Kanto Men’s Pairs

Terry Potticary’s remarkable winning start to the 2023 season continued on August 26 with victory alongside Ed Usuda in the Bowls Japan Kanto Region Men’s Pairs.

Ed & Terry made light of defeat in Round One and rallied to win all of their remaining games — two of them with come-from-behind three-point last-end finishes.

Talk about “never say die”!

The victory cost Terry (Kanto Singles Champion) his second beer tower of the season and Ed his first (thank you both!), but the twosome will head to Kobe later this year full of confidence in their combination and with the best wishes of the Club behind them.

Also qualifying for the finals from YC&AC were Shige Itoh and the Incredible, the Ambidextrous Toshi Kurosawa, who finished third.

In second place, Messrs Matsubara and Tanaka from Tokyo. Nice bowling, gents!

While in fourth place….

And so on …

Viewed from the sidelines, this was a most excellent day of bowls. Best of luck to all the Kanto qualifiers at the finals in Kobe, especially of course to those representing YC&AC.
